I say this because I always turn off Night Creatures.  They quickly overrun the entire world, take out every King, Queen, Baron, and Duke around them, and NEVER DIE.  They can be killed, but in the time it takes for one worldgenned adventurer to kill one, they spawn 10 more... who also don't die.

If they were able to die off from old age we wouldn't have this problem

And I could go back to having boogiemen.

You don't have bogeymen?

Night Creatures never seem to overrun my worlds. 1050 years of generated history and I only need to kill a dozen or so on a continent before a civ no longer has any night creature problems.

Well that's how it goes.

But if you check legends mode, those dozen or so Night Critters have been around since the year 50.  Killing everyone.  Until you showed up.  Also notice that alot of times Night Creatures were their ONLY problem? No Megabeasts, Trolls, or enemy civs.  Just Horny Women and Dread Men.

Maybe theres a different method to deal with this kind of issue, but I think max ages would be a good thing.

Are you mistaking the words "Bogeymen" with "Night Creature"?

Uh no... no I'm not.  Setting Night Creatures to 0 means you don't get Boogiemen.
Apparently I was

There are a few options really.

One, they could be made easier to kill for worldgenners.  This would prevent them from being quite so prolific and killing every Dwarven King or Queen.  I've yet to see very many instances of a Night Creature being killed in worldgen.

Two, they could be given a society of sorts.  They would only take victims as converted spouses when they need to grow their population, prefering murder when they don't.

Third, they could just die of old age eventually, which seems fast and easy.
