regail your adventures

In a couple of days Im going to be heading across spain on this (for a couple of weeks). It might involve going down a river (running from Samacas past Zamora, and down towards Porto) and crossing lots of dams.

I was wondering what adventurers Bay12ers hard partaken in, regail me with your tails.

I try to do something either stupid or dangerous at least once per year, so far this has led me to; get busted by the Royal Marines in an inflatable dingy, freeze my joints stiff on a motorbike, and fall of Britains tallest mountain (a large hill by global standards).

Not in chronological order:

-Climbed Ayers Rock. Later found out it was an aboriginal sacred site and felt like crap.
-Hiked a 15km section of the Great Wall of China. Not the pretty, refurbished section for tourists. The part where you're jumping over gaps and dodging rubble piles and trying not to fall over the side.
-Drank rice liquor with a snake in it. Tastes like Drambuie.
-Went whitewater rafting in a river that the native name for translates as "River of Death". And I can't swim.
-Dated a nymphomaniac who was pretty much psychotic. Not nearly as fun as it sounds.
-Rode in a taxi in Hangzhou (note: this is a bigger adrenaline rush than most roller coasters, because the taxi will spend more than 50% of the trip on the wrong side of the road. When they're not on the sidewalk.)

Me and ol' dad get in a lot of adventures.  We took a nine day roadtrip across the American Southwest, including causing a minor rockslide at the Grand Canyon, breaking into the big meteor crater, getting totally lost on the backroads of Indian Territory, chased by security out of the VLA, and starting a brief fight between drunks on a train in Las Vegas.  We seem to get in highspeed chases with skinheads and rednecks on a regular basis.  And our campaign of misdirection and subterfuge with the water company is better left without detail in case anyone ever links this profile to my name.

Some friends and I once refereed for a two-day paintball tourney, and we wound up staying awake for four days straight, including the various hijinks and shenanigans bored college students can get up to on a long weekend.  Most of my stories about me and my friends don't really deserve elaboration, but you get the idea.  Point is, I have an amazing reputation for a stick-in-the-mud considering how many of my adventures revolve around questionable legality.

The manager got "Hyma" to come to the shop, then he got the teeth out of the safe and put them on the counter.  While they turned around so the manager could chew people out about store policy and/or cut a deal for the reward, we swiped the teeth and ran like we stole something, to go blow some of the $300 on jack-and-coke's at some nasty bar.

One time during camp, my friends and I went hiking. It was a long walk up and down a hill, through a field of TALL flowers, and past what appeared to be the old remnants of a barbed-wire fence, and up to a creek. My 2 friends were eager to cross the creek, but I wasn't. I went back and they continued. They were gone for an hour, so I went to look for them. I looked EVERYWHERE and couldn't find them, so I went back to camp to eat. They showed up barefoot another hour later. Apparently, they continued past the river, hiked up a hill, crossed a field full of this plant they thought was sage or something, then went up a mountain. It wasn't all that steep, though they didn't want to risk getting injured trying to hike down, so they slid down. One of 'em was hit in the crotch by a plant on the way down. For the rest of the day, we stayed at out camp site.

I got nothing, I'm fucking boring. I almost sunk a boat once, but it wasn't as interesting as it sounds.

Hmm, i think my most interesting one is when i fucked up an adjustable wrench when i was some 4 years old.I was watching with great interest as my dad and uncles were fixing my grandfathers van, i think they were changing tires or something. After they finished i milled around for a while and tried to do what they did, shoving this big heavy wrench into the wheel then failing to retrieve it as it fell inside.Later that day they need to use the van, so they start it up and it goes on about a meter or so before stopping completley and refusing to move. After a few minutes of looking around they find the problem, a now completely twisted and deformend wrench was stuck inside the wheel, wrapped around it's axle.Luckily for me they managed to pull it out ^^

I once drank to much and somehow managed to bus home without remembering it.

Um, that is about as exciting as my life gets, and I'm thankful for it.
