Caste-level Graphics

I'm looking for a way to assign a different graphic tile to different castes of a creature I'm working on.

I did a search and found people suggesting using NATURAL_SKILL to force a profession for specific castes, then assigning that profession the tile you wanted in your graphics file. For example, [NATURAL_SKILL:MINING:5] in the caste, and then in the graphics file, [MINER:blah:#:#:AS_IS:DEFAULT].

Has anyone gotten this to successfully work (in this version)? The castes correctly show up with the skill/profession, but I'm NOT getting the assigned tile. I believe I saw the Monster Hunter Universe mod was having the same issue.
