Don't let him out!
« on: April 19, 2011, 03:16:46 pm »

I'm having trouble with my dwarves moving cages without letting the animals inside out, example: i order urist mcrelease to move elk bird cage to trade depot, urist mcrelease releases the elk bird before moving the now elk bird absent elk bird cage to the depot. how can i make it so he moves the cage with the animal still inside the cage.

'Tis a bug. You can't trade caged creatures, just the cages themselves. Moving cages other places is still possible, though.

I learned this today, the hard way. Luckily it was just 5 or 6 badgers that got loose. I guess it could have been worse and it almost seemed ashame to even have to ask my Legendary Axedwarf to run after them .. :)

In dwarf fortress touching heads brakes bones, smashes it, and then the brain gets stabbed.
Maybe he was just lucky and punched the head of the Giant Badger Boar. These creatures are very strong though, don't think just because your recruit got lucky your other ones will get lucky too, or don't think GBB are weak.
