Got a dwarf in the hospital after a siege. He needs to be fixed by a bone doctor.

i have traction benches and all that, but do they need to be next to eachother? By that i mean that the bed and traction bench are just next to eachother?

Not at all. In the same way as a dwarf can be carried from where he was wounded to the hospital, he can be carried from the bed to the table/bench.
