Capybaras
« on: April 09, 2011, 08:44:22 am »

Just ordered my 5 or so captured rodents to be tamed, when I realised they could be. And I've come across a problem.

My trainer is repeatedly training the same capybara. It's already marked as (tame), and they're still trying to tame it. And anyone refuses to move it to pasture. Bug?

InstaEdit: Wait, just realised I set it to R. Didn't mean to. Still surely it's a bug that setting train to repeat attempts to train the animal repeatedly.

I think it's the way towns develop now. In the beginning, people move into a town. Then they start producing tables, which results in more and more tables. Soon tables represent a significant portion of the population, they start lobbying for new laws and regulations, putting people to greater and greater disadvantage...
Link for full quote. 'tis mighty funny.

Yeah, you have to issue a "tame large creature" order for each animal.  It may be a bug, but it's been around for a long time.  I did that with wolves back in 40d.

Also, obviously, magma avalanches and tsunamis weren't exactly a contingency covered in the mission briefing.
I can assure you that Ardentdikes is not the first fortress to be flooded with magma. What's unusual is that we actually meant to flood it with magma.
