I'm running a test fort, still in the first year, with all the workshops just sitting outside. Badgers repeatedly kill my dwarves and have come close to setting off a tantrum spiral several times.

BTW do you mean conga-lining badger men, or the horrible Giant Badger boar/sow?
etc
Badger...
Men?
And I thought conchmen sounded strange...
(On an aside, do badger-men like mushroom-men and are afraid of snake-men? And, regardless of those answers, did anyone get the reference?)
Some days I miss Hibernia ... the rolling hills, the ponies of death, the giant badgers of doom ... oh, and the damn invading factions from those other two areas.  ;)

Doesn't quite have the ring of heroics to it...
Mother: "...and after the evil snow butterfly was defeated, Domas and his kitten lived happily ever after!"
Kids: "Yaaaay!"

No doubt badger men would dig through the god-damn ground to find plump helmet men.

I got blessed with packs of badger sows / boars in this week's 31.25 embark.  It was interesting...

Thing is, in the real world badgers don't travel in packs. They're just as vicious though, that part is true.

And suddenly savage deserts are more welcoming than temperate forests without badger lines :P

I embark with about 20 kaolinite to recycle in pottery later, but in the beginning they are very useful for if I need to suddenly build some walls around my wagon while I dig down.

Congrats, Psieye. This is the first time I've seen a derailed thread get put back on the rails.
