Upon sending my group of marksdwarves to harass a bunch of goblins sitting at the edge of the map, they get engaged in a big shootoff, with arrows and bolts taking out dwarves and goblins, respectively.

One or two dwarves are suffering from red wounds, one dwarf runs into melee, a few goblins are dead, everyone else is shooting, and then poof, crash to desktop.

If you can supply a save from right before this happens, toady might be able to track it down and fix it.
