« on: April 04, 2011, 09:44:28 am »

anyone have knowledge concerning preventing long patrol duty depression?
whats a safe amount of months to have them training/patrolling?
is it being active/inactive that pisses them off?

I think it stops when they are high enough skilled in a military skill.
If you dwarves are actually unhappy you should fix other things first because they won't be unhappy because if they just have a long patrol duty.

I'm not sure the best duration, but I don't have any problems doing 1 month on, 1 month off duty with a schedule.

Otherwise, you can get compinsate the effect if they each are otherwise happy. If you eat in legendary rooms, take joy in a slaughter, sleep in a nice bed, adn admire various furniture, it will help them stay happy. Grumbling about long patrol duties is relatively minor an inconvenience.

No! No! I will not massacre my children. Instead, I'll make them corpulent on crappy mass-produced quarry bush biscuits and questionably grown mushroom alcohol, and then send them into the military when they turn 12...
