Odd attacks by my horse

No, this isn't another "why to my animals attack each other?" thread.  I know why it happens.  What I want to know is whether this is just me, or a bug ...

Don't these types of attacks require the ability to grasp?  Haven't checked the raws, but no horse (or cow) that I'm aware of has the ability to grasp with their rear hooves.  I guess I will file this one as a bug, especially since it isn't just me seeing it.

[edit]  Report filed.  Doing my part to make the game better, even if leaving this one makes it more humorous. ;)
