irregular fluid repeater design

Here the new irregular fluid repeater design:



1. Channel
2. Remove ramp
3. Build pressure plate
4. Fill pond with 2*5+1=11 water units
5. Link pressure plate to any device (danger room traps, bridges and etc)
6. ...
7. PROFIT!!!

Given that it links to levers, I'd assume it randomly activates danger rooms and stuff.

Seeing as dwarves can path through such shallow water, can the pressure plate be messed with after the pond's filled?

Also, if I fill the pond with 12 units of water for example, will that make things trigger more often, less often, or such?

No  :)

it will not work. Needs one cell with 3 units water. This cell will move randomly and accidentally press on a plate.
If more 3 cells then pressure plate will not have time to react.
