Caged prisoners, ghosts and civilians
« on: April 03, 2011, 05:25:54 am »

I have three (probably simple ) questions for you guys.

1. How to get rid of ghosts? Two of my dwarves died in last siege. I have their bodies in refuse/corpses stockpile. What should I do with them?

2. What's the simplest way of getting rid of caged prisoners? I would love to have step-by-step instructions cause I'm newb in DF at all. ( If that helps, I have 15 gobblins - all disarmed , and one giant humanoid )

3. How can I tell my non-military dwarves to go to one, safe place after i get attacked?

Thanks in advance for any help. ;)

1- Make Cascets from the Carpenter's Workshop, put them in a room, allow burial (by pressing q)
3-Press i, make a zone, and identify it as a burrow. Go to the military screen, press a, make civilians active, and make the burrow active too. When these are activated, all of your civilians will go to the burrow you specified.

1) Caskets can be made of stone, too. Once they're made, you have to build them (like beds or tables) before you can 'q' them to set them as useable.

3) Setting up a burrow for your civilians is under 'w', not 'i'.

Dying (ceasing to be alive) is also not a Moodable skill. Even totally unskilled Dwarves seem to do it correctly.
