"Held items" count twice in total (created) we
« on: October 18, 2006, 06:52:00 pm »

I noticed this just now when one of my dwarves created an artifact worth 177,600: Created Wealth jumped by over 300k.

Was it counting it as held/worn and also furniture (or armor etc)?  The artifacts are kind of a strange case since they carry them around.  At the same time, clothing etc. that is worn counts twice (i.e. in two categories) for immigration purposes, since dwarves wearing shiny clothes are a larger draw than shiny clothes off in dusty bins.  The artifacts probablye end up double counting like that.

It's in "Other Objects" as well as Held/Worn.  It's a ring.

Okay, so it's giving you a bonus since migrants prefer the forts where the ring is actually on somebody rather than stored away, but it the text should reflect this more clearly, or the mechanism should be changed.

All right, if it's as you intended it, it's fine.  What it means, though, is that artifacts are a primary force behind immigration counts.

I shall, at the very least, note that on the wiki.   ;)
