Everything said is basically right from my experience. All the weapons are pretty decent, except maces, since you might as well just use war hammers.

Adamantine seems to basically suck compared to steel except when used for armor and spears.

Any edged weapon is great when made of adamantine.

I do hammers and swords, but my adventurer uses axes.

Unless your dwarf choose to slap/pommel enemies instead of slashing or cutting, as it happens with axes, swords and even spears sometimes.

lets make a rime thingy to remember some basics

addy is for armors

silver is for sledgehammers

steel is for severely important stuff

lead is for loser coffins

improve?
