You have struck Orthoclase!
« on: October 30, 2007, 06:57:00 pm »

Game keeps pausing as I dig deeper and deeper every time my miners hit orthoclase or microcline. Not sure what's causing it at all, but I'll post if I get any more insights.

It happens whenever you hit some new kind of material, though I wish it didn't repeat for things you already found.

Yeah, the repetition is what I'm referring to.

The repeats are going to be once per mineral/ore/gem once per z-level.
So, digging down you hit orthoclase, then orthoclase you'll get two notifications.  If you dig over and up and hit orthoclase again, you won't get a notification.

They are a bit annoying, especially for the common and relatively worthless large cluster rocks.

... it's doing something similar with damp walls... except we are talking about the same z-level

kind of pointless if the jobs are cancelled anyway, especially if that load of walls are in a cluster.

makes sense to flag it up when you find the stuff in another corner of the map for example.. but not right next to the last one.
