Dogs escape restraints
« on: October 30, 2007, 06:53:00 pm »

I chained a couple war dogs near entrances to watch for kobolds, but they seem unable to be chained.  The dwarves will haul the dog to the chain just like in the previous version, but as soon as the dwarves leave the dog slips the chain and runs off.  Then the dwarves turn and chase them down again... and again...

I uploaded a video of it to the DFMA.  It's pretty funny, actually.  :)

I was using nickel chains.  I doubt that has anything to do with it, but it is a new metal.

EDIT:  It seems that the dogs were desperately trying to go stand next to the dwarf who trained them.  When I put that dwarf inside where they couldn't see him, the other dwarves were able to chain them up again.  As soon as I let the trainer outside again, the dogs broke free.

Yeah, chains don't seem to work so well now.
