11th of Moonstone, year 103

I must admit I don't always understand the humor of our archers. Just today I found the whole squad stationed in their post, even though only five from nine dwarves were required. It wasn't that which surprised me but what they were doing. They had spotted a raccoon outside the entrance and were having some kind of competition of who can wound the poor creature with most accurate hit without killing it.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I followed the competition for a while, and I must admit that some of the archers are pretty accurate with their crossbows. The raccoon had no chance, though when I left it was still alive.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

What I find strange is the sadistic joy the archers got from the competition, the cheering was especially loud when somebody managed to successfully hit the creature. On the other hand, this is sacred fortress of Armok, and Armok is the blood god, so I think behavior like that should be quite normal here.

15th of Moonstone, year 103

I have never seen an ettin. Or to be more specific, I haven't seen an etting before today. Well, even a dwarf of my age can learn new things.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The ettin was able come close to the entrance, but the archers were able to keep it safe distance away with swarms of bolts. Several times the ettin tried to reach the entrance, never succeeding.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Eventually the ettin either got tired to realized that it had no chance to enter the fortress and it begun retrieving. That was the moment we were waiting for, as it was already somewhat wounded, so it was time to send our soldiers after it.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The chase took pretty long and the ettin was able to run quite far away before the soldiers were able to hack it down. The blood trail leading away from the fortress is in some way beautiful...
Now, back to the subject. This time it was Windflier who dealt the killing blow, though the whole squad along with the archers helped him.

16th of Obsidian, year 103

The goblins are here again, but this time they sent a quite formidable force. Dozens of goblins, mounted and barefoot, including bowmen, pikemen, lashers and others. Their numbers are so great that I decided to order all the civilian inside and wait, while the soldiers and archers try to deal this problem.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

First wave consisted of goblin axelord leading the group of mounted pikemen. It was easily repelled by archers, the goblins didn't even get near the entrance.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

While the goblins were regrouping it was time for trolls to try their luck.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

There archers did a wonderful job and six trolls were slain, though the weapon traps helped them in the process. One wounded troll was left lying next to the entrance, incapable to move while not being in archers' line of sight.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

As the trolls were scattering the goblins sent another wave from north, this three or so squads worth of lashers, most of them mounted on giant rats.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

While the archers turned their attention towards the goblins, one troll was able to get past the traps and enter the front yard. The poor troll was met by angry soldiers, which were anxious to join the battle.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The troll was quickly slain and in the mean while the goblins were hammered by the bolts shot by the archers. After few moments the goblins begun fleeing, as their number had dwindled by several while no dwarves had even as much as been wounded. It was time to release the soldiers to help the archers in slaying the remain goblins.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The remaining siegers were quickly slain, mostly because their mounts had been greatly wounded and thus there was no way to escape from the fury of dwarves quickly enough. When the fight ceased it was time to check the scene. Blood, vomit, corpses and body parts were everywhere, marking the glorious victory of dwarves. In the name of Armok great deal of blood had been spilled, and the goblins had been taught a important lesson: Do not mess with dwarves of Armok!
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Several interesting, and in one case glorious, fact was discovered after the battle:
First of all one of the archers, Lolor Claspwet, had become elite archer. The curious thing was that he had killed only one troll during the entire siege, but on the other hand the story went that he had wounded several goblins and trolls, it just was that the other archers or traps had given the lethal wound.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Secondly it was realized that no goblin bowmen ever reached the entrance as the call of retreat was given soon enough. This fact can be considered a good thing as those goblins could have given some hard time to our archers, though I suspect that the result of the battle would have stayed the same.

The last interesting thing I learned is that the trolls have bluish blood, not red like others. Interesting, such color could give some diversity to our sacrifices and ceremonies.

1st of Slate, year 104

Windflier, one our heroic soldiers, was possessed by Armok today. He claimed one of our unoccupied jewel workshops, gathered tons of different materials and begun working. Just before evening meal I was informed that he had finished his construction. The construction turned out to be superior statue of our former king, Tholtig Inkmerge, and the statue was relating to him being crowned as our king. The history tells us that Inkmerge was one of the first members of the Cult of Armok, and by his hand our cult was able to raise in power and become official religion before the councilors decided to forbid any kind of religion.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The statue was heavily decorated, while the most interesting decoration was the picture of Windflier himself mortally wounding one of the goblins with his iron axe last winter in the battle that has become known as The Fifth Attempted Abduction. This picture only proves to us that Armok is pleased with us and how we are able to drive off the heathen goblins.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

2nd of Slate, year 104

Inspired by our heroic deeds and the wealthy of this fortress a small group of migrants have decided to join our community. While no brothers of sisters were accompanying the group all the newcomers were our supporters back in the mountain home and decided that this place would be a better place to live. Hah, I can't disagree with them, this place surely beats any other place. It's a small wonder that none of the nobles from mountain home has yet decided to move here.

Now, our population has risen by six dwarves, up to total of one hundred dwarves. Hah!

5th of Slate, year 104

Our current temple is not worthy enough for the attention of Armok, as He deserves much more, so I have ordered to begin a construction of grand temple complex above the volcano. The whole temple shall be made from gold, and nothing else, to make it worthy for our supreme lord. The fellow brothers and sisters shall have own bedrooms and offices from the temple, when it's finished.

17th of Felsite, year 104

Elven caravan came today. Oh how I liked the faces they were showing when they entered our fortress, as the entrance is still covered in blood and several corpses are still scattered around as our stockpile is still full. Hah, perhaps that will teach them to behave properly!

So, I did some trading with the elves, and for some random trinkets I gave I was able to buy one wild dog for our simpleton carpenter, one giant panda, alcohol, wood and barrels. Again the elves brought us some champagne, which I of course bought for myself. Hah!

24th of Felsite, year 104

How did that cave crocodile got here?! One such animal was interrupting our workers near the masonries, so I had to order the squad to go there and kill it. But how did it get there without notice? Are our citizens that dumb that they don't notice such a creature before it's able to get all through the fortress from the cave to the other side of the fortress? And why wasn't the military alerted immediately? Stupid citizens.

25th of Felsite, year 104

Well well, the crocodile was able to kill one of our workers before the soldiers were able to catch and kill it. Poor Groovedoil, she happened to be in wrong place at the wrong time, and because of that she got her throat ripped to pieces. Must had been painful death. She will be buried next to the miner in our public graveyard.

14th of Hematite, year 104

I'm not mayor anymore. The citizens decided to elect our chief doctor to that position, totally forgetting the achievements I have had during my three and half years of leadership. But that's okay, I can concentrate to the serving of Armok better now, and even though Tournourished is the new mayor I'm still in charge here as the senior priest. And that's something nobody can take from me!
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

7th of Malachite, year 104

One of our sisters, Releasedeathens, was possessed by Armok himself! She claimed one of our masonries as her own and begun working. After several hours she finally came out and presented us the artifact, alunite hatch cover, which was decorated with bones, leather, sacred stones and gold. And why did Armok want her to make such an item? Well, it's not my duty to question the will of Armok, so instead we shall have a ceremony this evening to praise the guidance of our supreme lord.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

9th of Galena, year 104

Our craft storage is now officially full. Not even a single bin can fit that area.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

This means two things: First of all, for their own sake I do hope that the human traders come this month. We need to unload some of the crafts somewhere, and those could as well be used to trading. Secondly, we need a bigger storage. Yup, that's right, even if human traders buy some of the crafts our workers will just produce more, and we need to store those somewhere. I should have seen this before hand, the storage was initially designed to be too small, but I didn't take that in account when we settled here. Well, we can as well fix the mistake now.

22nd of Galena, year 104

Human caravan did arrive, and just in schedule. As before their selection was quite poor, I ended up buying some alcohol, including champagne again, cages, one bar of iron, one tame dog and lots of cheese. I figured out that it has been too long since I tasted cheese last time, and I can't bother planning the industry for producing it. Human cheese is not as good as dwarven cheese, but in this case I think I can live with that. At least we have cheese. Cheese!

25th of Galena, year 104

The extension of craft storage is completed. I decided to go with the plans of constructing it above the old storage, this time making it big enough to hold tons and tons of crafts. And we can always expand it further when the need arises.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

26th of Galena, year 104

Where are the goblins? And vampires? Nobody has tried to attack us in a long time, not since last winter when we crushed that pathetic attempt of siege made by goblins and trolls. Did we crush them that badly? No, I don't think so, I believe they are preparing for even bigger siege. That's shame as it means no spilling of blood for the name of Armok. Perhaps we should slay something else? Perhaps the elves would be a good target, their caravan are not guarded after all. Yes, that's considerable idea, though I believe our mayor doesn't agree with me. Too bad she has no power over me...

8th of Limestone, year 104

Our fortress' wealth has risen to over one million bucks!
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Most of the wealth we have created comes from the furniture, few artifact ones especially, and all the crafts our dear crafter Whiptolls has created. One million bucks! That's a lot! We have proofed that our cult is capable of achieving great things in short period of time, something even mountain home wasn't able to do! From them it took, basing on my history knowledge, several years more to achieve a wealth which required only less than four years from us. Hah! Who is laughing now? Hah!

16th of Limestone, year 104

Our soldiers are running low on training shields. And they can't keep on training without one, so we must make more. Well, our carpenters have nothing else to do so lets give the soldiers some more. At least the breaking of the shields means that they have been faithfully practicing, which is only a good thing. Better chance for them to survive if they actually know how to use the shield they have been given.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Our dear mayor has been a bit disappointed that she has been passed in the chain of command. She doesn't show her feelings to anyone, but I know that it's the case. Meh, no concern of mine, I didn't choose her as my replacement. If it were up to me I would still be in that position. Unfortunate to him, I don't give a shit.

20th of Limestone, year 104

WHO HAS BEEN DRINKING MY CHAMPAGNE?!

I just went down to the storage and noticed that somebody has been drinking my champagne. MY CHAMPAGNE!
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I didn't buy it for public use, I bought it for me and me alone! I tell you, if I ever figure out who's responsible of it the guilty shall be punished! Sacrificed! I didn't give a permission to drink that, so somebody must have disobeyed my order! This is outrage!

20th of Sandstone, year 104

The construction of roof above our front yard has been finished! Now our peasants are safe during the sieges as long as they don't go outside the walled area.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I'm still finding out who has been drinking my champagne. Nobody appears to know anything about it, or at least won't tell me when I'm asking. It feels like they are protecting someone but who? Well, I will find it out, and my revenge shall be extracted!

11th of Timber, year 104

Now that the roof is ready our masons have moved down to caverns to construct a proper entrance there. Perhaps we can conquer it soon. Their first task is to construct a platform, which will be heavily trapped to prevent any unwanted cave crocodiles for entering our fortress. After that they should begin constructing a path towards the dry area east from the stairs.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

20th of Timber, year 104

The caravan from mountain home came today. The liaison, who was accompanying them, headed straight to mayor's office after hearing that we have new mayor. I never even got a chance to discuss her!

So, as I wasn't allowed to meet with liaison I went and did some trading. For tons of crafts I was able to get lots of alcohol, steel and iron bars, several dogs which can be trained to war dogs, and several bins of cloth and leather. Enough to support our leather worker and clothier in their task of sewing images.

I also offered some of our crafts to be taken to the queen, perhaps she will support our cause if she sees that we can benefit her. We need someone to protect our fellow brothers and sisters back in mountain home, and who else would be better supporter than the queen herself!

Interlude #1 - Becoming the barony

On her way out the liaison met Steelfloor.

"Greetings Steelfloor! And congratulations of becoming a barony! I tell you, the promoting was earned!"
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Steelfloor halted, staring at the liaison.

"Barony? What? When? Who?"

"Ah, I see that the mayor hasn't informed you about it yet. Your master stone crafter, Whiptools, has been promoted to the position of baron!"
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

"WHAT?"

"Yes, the queen saw that it was time to make your fortress the official part of the kingdom and so she gave me the leave of making one of your dwarves a baron. Whiptool was the best candidates, the wealth of this fortress is mostly formed by his masterful work. And the mayor agreed with me."

Steelfloor muttered something which liaison didn't understand. Several dwarves had begunn gathering around the two, curious of what was going on.

"What did you say Steelfloor? I didn't understand a word about your mutterings."

Steelfloor face was darkening as he replied.

"I said that son-of-bitch! She never consulted me about this promotion!"

"Ah, I see. Well, he is the mayor and so he doesn't have to consult anyone one the decisions like this. In fact, I heard that YOU have ignored him in all decisions made in this fortress."

"Yes but because that he is ignorant, self-centered dwarf who has no idea of how to rule this fortress properly! The only reason he is the mayor here is because he has more friends than I do, and those so-called friends of him doesn't know what's best for them!"

"Stop that before you say something you regret! Besides, who would have been better candidate to become a baron? Give me a name and I MAY reconsider."

"Well, any of my fellow brothers or sisters! We are the hearth of this fortress, so we should be the ones who are ruling here, not some random crafter who has happened to become legendary in working with stone!"

"Ah, but you don't understand, it was the will of the queen to promote someone who is NOT member of your religion. And from that list Whiptools was the best candidate."

"But why? This is our fortress? Why not promote any of the true leaders this place?"

"Don't you know that the atmosphere back in mountain home is against your cult? How would the citizens react if they heard that there is a fortress ruled by the dwarves they hate so much? Do you really think that they would accept that? No, don't answer, as both of us know it. They wouldn't. It is best for all of us that this fortress is officially ruled by someone who does not belong your religion. Otherwise all the caravans planning to travel here would be either jailed, or in worst case, killed outright. Do you really want to take things to that point?. And besides, your religion has sworn to stay away from politics. So the ruler must be someone else."

"But this isn't any ordinary fortress! This is The Abbey of Ancients, the holy fortress of Armok! Of course this place should be ran by the holy members of the church! I established this fortress, and I have ruled it from the beginning! I should be in charge here!"

"So you are just jealous? Forget it, you are not going to run this place, never! If the citizens of yours decide to follow your orders instead of official mayor or baron, then it's their headache, but officially this place shall never been ruled by any member of your cult! And that decision is final!"

With that the liaison departed, leaving angry Steelfloor standing where he was, surrounded by dozens of confused and scared dwarves. It was known that Steelfloor was not always the most stable dwarf, but he had been good leader so far. Would he do something that he would regret later? Or would things return to normal? No, the later was impossible, as The Abbey of Ancients was barony now, and thus nothing would return to normal. One the other hand, what was normal in a place like this? In a place where spilling of blood was considered as one of the most holiest thing that could be done, where the cathedrals were made from gold alone and where archers' favorite past-time was wounding wild animals, making a competition from it?

Even though there were dozens of question waiting for an answer, one thing was sure: the queen, through the liaison, had just undermined the authority of Steelfloor, and he would not take it lightly. Blood will be spilled, but whose blood that is was still mystery.

1st of Moonstone, year 104

I'm still outraged! How could that idiot neglect me when making decisions with impact of that scale? He must be punished. But how?

Yes, I think how he shall be punished! I will sacrifice him to the Armok! And officially I will claim that he was the one guilty of drinking my champagne! The laws of Armok are very strict in that, nobody is allowed to touch someone's private property without the permission! And the punishment of that is the sacrificial death. Yes, that's it, that's how I'm going to do it!

Fortunately Whiptools is loyal follower of us, even though he is not the member of our religion. I can make him to believe that our mayor was guilty, and so he can make the judgement. And when he does that nothing can stop me!

Now, I'm not moving against our new baron, he is too valuable for that. It's true that I must find a new crafter for us, but that's a minor problem, something I should be able to handle. If I can keep him in his position then I can use him to make orders that benefits me and my cult and nobody can stand against. Fortunate to him that he is loyal, otherwise I would have to arrange him the same fate as what's waiting for our mayor.

16th of Moonstone, year 104

The first floor of the grand cathedral has been finished!
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The temples and altars have been constructed, and we have even the sacrifice device constructed in the middle of the first floor! Everything in the first floor has been made from gold except the lever and the mechanisms connecting it to the floor hatches, as no mechanisms can be made from gold. I'm happy with the result.

Whiptools has made his decision and our mayor shall be put on trial. The punishment must wait till he has been officially proved guilty, but I have time and patience to wait.

I have also found a replacement for him to make all the crafts we need. Unfortunately none of the dwarves living here has such a skill as our baron, but hey, even he begun from the bottom! At least our supply of crafts has been secured!

19th of Moonstone, year 104

One of our peasant, Bigcities, has made a nice headscarf from alpaca wool.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

It's midnight blue in color, thanks to the dye used to the wool, and there are few decorations made from wool and iron in it. Yes, it's nice, but nothing exception in my opinion. Can't see why it's considered as valuable as it is, over fourteen thousand bucks.

11th of Opal, year 104

The trial has been held and mayor Tournourished has been proved to be guilty for the crimes against Armok and His laws. No objection was raised, so the punishment shall be given according the holy laws of Armok. The sacrifice shall take place this evening, during the ceremony of justice!

Interlude #2 - The sacrifice

Evening came and it was time to begin the ceremony of justice. The guilty, mayor Tournourished, had been prepared and he was standing over the floor hatches, in the middle of the first floor of the cathedral. All the priests, except Steelfloor, had gathered around, chanting hymns dedicated to Armok.

When Steelfloor entered the cathedral the chanting ceased, and the only sound was coming from Steelfloor's robes as he walked to lever constructed next to the floor hatches. After he halted the other priests silently left the cathedral. The ceremony required only two person present, the criminal and the priest of highest ranking, which in this case was Steelfloor. Nobody else was allowed to be inside during the ceremony.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

After everybody had left the cathedral Steelfloor turned his face toward Tournourished, who was drugged to the state in which he was unable to move while realizing what was happening around him. The reagents of the drug were secret and only known to priests of Armok, though rumors claimed that at least small amount of gnomeblight was used in the process.

"Father Armok, hear me, your humble child and servant! I'm standing here, before you, to offer a sacrifice for your name! I offer you a criminal, who has been found guilty for the crimes against your holy laws! Hear me, your humble servant, and accept this gift I offer to you! May this criminal be judged by you and your holy wisdom, like he was judged by us by your guidance!"

Steelfloor raised his hand and placed it to the handle of the lever.

"Tournourished, hereby I accuse you of breaking the laws of Holy Father! How do you respond?"

Tournourished didn't answer, unable to speak due the drugs given to him, only stared Steelfloor in shock and horror.

"With not replying I, the holy child of Armok, take it you admit your crimes. By doing so you have gained the chance of being redeemed by Armok if He sees it fitting."

Steelfloor tilted his head upwards, facing the sky above him.

"Father Armok, the holy guide of you children, I hereby sacrifice this criminal to you, as by silence he has admitted his crimes! Yours is the decision of his soul, by your hand this soul can be redeemed or sentenced in eternal fire!"

Steelfloor pulled the lever and Tournourished fell down to the magma. Immediately after touching it Tournourished begun melting. He was unable to move nor scream but terror was clearly visible on his face while he kept sinking deeper and deeper. In few seconds there was no sign of him in the surface of magma, though Steelfloor was sure that the bastard was still alive. The only question was whether he was going to suffocate or melt first. Either way the death was going to be a long and painful one, just like Steelfloor wanted it to be.

12th of Opal, year 104

The new mayor has been elected, and the winner was Tomesorgans. I know the lad, though we are not exactly friends. Still, even though he was a friend of our former mayor, I believe that he will be more easily controlled than his predecessor.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I gave him Tournourished's old quarters. I hope and his wife appreciate it.

The winter is officially here as I just noticed that the small pools outside our fortress have been frozen. That hasn't happened since the first winter. Well, I'm content as long as it doesn't begun to snow here.

26th of Opal, year 104

I don't get it, our smiths have ran out of gold bars. How is that possible?

I went to investigate the reasons behind all this, and I found out that our furnace operators have been missing gold nuggets for some time now. They said that they had informed the mayor, who was Tournourished back then, about the situation and he had ordered them to focus on making iron. Iron?! While our grand cathedral is still under construction and desperately needs gold block?! Good thing we sacrificed him, he has been nothing but obstacle here.

So, I sent our miners to mine more gold.  And no, I don't care where they find the veins as long as they do so. We need that gold damn it!

19th of Obsidian, year 104

Two vampires tried to enter our fortress last night. None of the archers noticed them, though that's not a surprise, after all we are talking about creatures of night, devilish fiends that can blend to the darkness and become nearly invisible if they want. Fortunately the traps were too much for them, and this morning we found two heavily mutilated corpses near the traps, blood, limbs and entrails scattered everywhere. Well, at least those didn't manage to get inside, though I believe our dogs would have sniffed them out.

21st of Obsidian, year 104

The vampires were almost inside when they were spotted. Unfortunately one of our peasant, Trussedwhipped, was standing in the entrance and so he was the first target of vampiric rage. The lad had no chance, and he was struck down before he managed to move.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The battle was brief but bloody, pieces of vampires were flying everywhere, but the soldiers, dogs and traps were able to keep those evil creatures away. Two vampires were even captured by the traps, I have to figure out what to do with it. The whole is now covered in blood.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

After the battle it was time to exam the scene. Among the bodies and pieces of vampires we found our two heroic guardian dogs. Those dogs had given their life to buy just enough time for our soldiers and archers to reach the scene  and their bodies were covered with slash and pierce wounds. Fortunately, as far as we were able to determine, no dwarf was hurt during the fight, except the poor peasant that is.

Now we are left to clean up the entrance, turning the bodies of vampires to useful things like crafts and meat. We must also train new pair of war dogs, fortunately we have several spare dogs in our storage.

Fifth year of living in this place has begun. I can't believe we have been away from mountain home that long.

I have made some changes in our nobility, more specifically promoted two of our workers to noble positions. First of all I promoted Asmel Boltpick to be our dungeon master, as she is the one who has been doing all the animal training around here. Secondly our second doctor, Sarvesh Weakenedposts, became the successor of our former mayor in the position of chief doctor. Well, Weakenedposts is currently our only doctor, so the decision was that hard to make.

The path to the dry section of the cavern is finished, and I sent our soldiers down there to investigate it. So far our masons have noted that no living creatures have been seen there, though the section is covered in cave spider silk webs. Hmm... silk webs... perhaps we should begin collecting those? Yeah, that's what we are going to do!

Depending on the safety of the cavern I have been thinking of moving our farms and food industry down there. Yep, we need to do some mining and muddying, but that's not a big deal. Perhaps we can finally have our first kitchens then.

I gave Boltpick the leave of training our animals as she sees fit, but I honestly didn't expect this. The first animal she trained was the panda in our pasture, turning it to a gigantic war panda! COOL!

I think I'm going to assign that panda to our militia commander, the enemies of Armok shall come to fear our squad and their mascot, gigantic panda trained to slaughter all the enemies!

I finally managed to reorganize our workforce in groups describing their professions. Now we have crafters, smiths, masons, carpenters, smelters, doctors and such. Everybody who didn't fit to any other group were labeled as peasants. Now it's easier to find out who area available to be assigned to new tasks, as I can just draft from our peasant group. I believe this makes it easier to manage this fortress, perhaps turning it to be a bit more effective as well.

10th of Slate, year 105

Our population is now one hundred and nineteen dwarves. This is because another group of migrants arrive here today, wishing to join our grand community. Two of the dwarves were assigned to be doctors, while rest of them were given peasant status. We have now thirty-eight peasants, perhaps I should draft few of them to military? Perhaps it would be a good time to form a spear squad. Yeah, and as we are missing captain of guard, and so have no official justice system besides the will of baron, and mine through him, perhaps we should appoint some of the peasants to become our guards. I think that's an excellent idea! I should give the order of producing the equipment immediately!

15th of Slate, year 105

Our soldiers discovered small fish man community inside the caverns. They wanted my opinion about what to do. I say kill them! We can't tolerate anything that puts our fortress in danger! And these half fish and half man creatures are just disgusting to look at. Such abominations must be slaughtered!

16th of Slate, year 105

The filthy abominations didn't have a chance against our superior soldiers. In few minutes all of them were slaughtered, while no dwarves were even injured. Well, at least we shall have more meat in our stocks, this time something rarer than we have got used to here.

You know, they could teach maths like this at school. "There are 105 dwarves in a settlement. A goblin invasion appears and 67 die. Then a migrant wave..."
