this could be the end of Largebusts!
« on: March 22, 2011, 01:13:03 pm »

Long story short--latest goblin siege killed a raw recruit and a royal guard.  The friends of said have begun tantruming, and two people went mad and drowned themselves.  Another is berzerk after tantruming and killing a kitty.  Thankfully she's locked in her room, though if I get bored before she starves I might let her out.  One of the tantrumming marksdwarves could go all Charles Starkweather on me, so I'm keeping an eye on him, too.

As I'm writing this, another marksdwarf has gone mad, so we'll see what happens.  Aaaaand one of the wrestlers just went berserk, and there's a kitty at his feet...and a farmer nearby!

Close call--a nearby wrestler took him down, saving the day.

For now!

EDIT--Okay, my newly legendary carpenter needs to die.  Why? Because he did a chair with images of elves massacreing dwarves.  No lava, but I am sure we can arrange to have him left outside during the next siege....

I can imagine him, standing outside with his big wooden ears glued to his head, "Hello breatheren?  I know you can hear me within the walls!  Let me in, I think a siege is coming!"
And the gatewatcher shouts back, "'ey, keep it down out dere or we won't 'ear the siege commin'!"

Hah. Largebusts.
Oh noes! The END of Largebursts  :(

It's treated as completely normal because this is Dwarf Fortress.  There's absolutely nothing wrong with surrounding yourself with a wall of flames, only to later realize that you're surrounded by a wall of flames.
There's nothing that can't be solved by hurling fifteen roc birds at it.

In the winter of 1074, Urist McRefugee fled the barony of Largebusts.
In the winter of 1074, Urist McRefugee settled in the dwarven outpost of Stackedbooty.

Yeah the fortress name makes me laugh also.

I wonder if Toady will include breast size in the descriptions...

Go easy on that dwarf.
He's only referencing an historic battle - one where his family died, maybe.

You forgot a detail: Dorfs get webbed in GCS webs and trigger traps. Right now we have some 12 caged dwarves, including you.

He means the Dwarf who engraved a picture of Elves slaughtering Dwarves.

I suggest atom-smashing his heretic creation in the meeting point of Largebusts.

I am ever so tempted...and the creator with it.  But it's in the dining room, and it seems to have staved off what I thought was inevitable doom.

If you think about it, It's kind of a public service announcement:  "Stop this tantrumming nonsense at once, or this will be our fate!"  (The parent civ has been at war with the elves for over 100 years, and my fort has been sieged by them repeatedly. we win every time of course...)
