Every time I try to abandon, it crashes instantly. I've tried in both on Wine and real Windows, no difference.

Here are a list of irregular things that are going/have gone on:

* Goblins have sieged, repeatedly. Many of were captured, including a squad leader.

* Mere seconds ago, I executed their leader. You can see his name with Deceased under 'u'.

* A Hydra arrived, and it's still alive and untamed.

* A human diplomat is still there, and his caravan is long gone.

It was the elephant, as usual.

How did you acquire your elephant?  However that happened, it wasn't forming a civilization link properly.  The save will abandon properly in the next version.

The two adult elephants had fallen into the mud pools while escaping from a hunter. One of the was adopted by a craftsdwarf and named. The calves were children of those two. The only strange thing I recall is that the named one got his name prior to killing people.
