Is it posible to recruit Dwarfs,elves , or goblins?

in the current version mountain halls,forest retreats,and obsidian towers dont exist.So is there anyway to recruit any race other than human?

I believe on rare occasion you might find "prisoners" of various races in human settlements, particularly inhabited castles? But that might only be true if the two races had gone to war with each other during worldgen.

You may also run into wierd friendly bandits and ambushers. You can recuit them.

I haven't tested it myself, but it sounds like starting as a Human outsider makes it easier to recruit bandits.

If you kill enough beasts, eventually you'll kill the right one and the bandits will like you for it. If you recruit them, don't go into town with them, and don't walk into their buddies.

I once recruited a demon prisoner in a human castle. Strange - the guards let us both go. He was extremely, extremely good in combat - and he only had a carving knife!
