Apparently adamantine robes are pretty nice.  You need something to go under a breastplate for upper arm coverage, and robes cover a massive part of the body.  And if it's adamantine, I don't think the thinness of the robe matters too much.

Yes, it still can.  They'll just have a harder time of getting to you.

The fortifications just prevents the solid ones from passing through.

You would still have to deal with any that are gaseous or oozelike though.
