Sometimes, in both dwarf mode and adventure mode, the game will decide that one or more of the keys on the numpad (or possibly one of the arrow keys) is being constantly held down. I know it's not my keyboard, because no other program is affected - not even if it happens in DF, and I then switch focus to another program. DF will stop scrolling or whatever while another program has focus, but it starts right back up when I go back to it. Sometimes it'll stop eventually, but I've had to exit the entire program a couple times.

Known bug. You don't have to exit out of DF to release the keypress. Just alt-tab out (or if you run windowed as do I, then just clicky your desktop then clicky back on DF), and switch back, then the key will be unstuck.

Edit: Reading comprehension > me. Ok, you said it stays stuck when you switch back... hrm, dunno. I believe it is a messaging issue, DF doesn't report the keypress message as having been received, so windows keeps sending the message...

Whenever I get stuck keys in DF, pressing the key again unsticks them for me.  Does that work?

Sometimes, but not always. However, it occurred to me earlier today that I usually haven't tried the regular arrow keys when this happens, so that may help.

the numlock key tends to produce this effect when in combination with the shift key and directions

just turn of numlock key when playing DF and you wont have this problem

to fix it just attempt tapping in the direction with numlock on to stop it from continuous scrolling

remember - numlock off for DF
