I just watched one of my legendary farmers - who, according to his profile, likes working outside and yadda yadda yadda - get nauseated and vomit upon leaving the fortress. His profile currently reports that he was nauseated by the sun recently.

Dwarves who like working outside aren't immune to cave adaptation.  They just don't get as bad of an unhappy thought from being caught outside in nasty weather.  

It's a good idea to build statue gardens and move the trading depot indoors to minimize dwarves going outside once you've got a more self-sustaining colony.  Or you can just live with the vomiting.  It doesn't seem to give them that unhappy a thought.

Phew.  And I thought I was the only one perplexed by this.

Right now on my newer fortress, it looks like there's been a projectile vomit distance contest going on - Green streaks as far as the eye can see (And all over 'cos some sun-sickened dwarves decided to run halfway across the map to pick something up.)

Its pretty funny to see the entrance of the fortress covered in gree goo.
