Symptom: extreme laziness.

Although I guess you wouldn't really notice it...

That's why lead and mercury poisoning isn't implemented.  It would have no effect.

I have one that has blood that causes skin to melt off as its syndrome. The blood is everywhere and now every single one of my dwarves is a walking mass of veins, arteries and exposed muscle.
Not one has gone to the doctor, and only my weakest have actually died from it. Aside from not having any skin the fort functions just fine and is now having babies.

I cant decide if that is disgusting or badass.  I'll say both :D

Mostly disgusting. That guy who's had an infection for over a year now and is unfazed by it, he's badass.

If a disease could cause dwarfs to rot while tantruming, would that make it a zombie virus?

If there was a way to link insanity to a syndrome, you could make a zombie plague of berserk+necrosis.

It's probably causing something small, like mild dizziness or very pathetic symptom, which they then rush off for.  Of course it's better than the alternative, having dwarves who never go to the hospital.

Just wait, all syndromes have a lifespan and will wear off.

lies. not all syndromes wear off. Maybe the FB ones, but not all syndromes. I'm pretty sure cave spiders' is cumulative.

There are many issues with this statement.

I got a syndrome that causes dwarves to bleed to death through their feet (somehow) within seconds.

After 70 dwarves died and most of my animals died, things stabilized, with only the occasional dwarf bleeding to death.  Cats and dogs last about 5 seconds though, and horses/cows/etc catch a fever and never wake up.
