Damned Trolls

My entire fortress is paralyzed because 3 war trolls are just standing there. They happen to be in the perfect place so that they can't...or maybe just don't... attack any of my dwarfs, but every dwarf can see them and refuses to use my staircase. it's getting annoying, because I can't do anything whatsoever.

Try stationing some archers nearby to scare them away.

I've found that using a danger warren gets me past "interrupted by grue" situations. If the dorfs aren't actively being chased they'll ignore bad guys to rush back to the warren.

On the plus side, I've got upwards of 30 assorted goblin and troll seigers caged up in my plethora of traps, so I don't have to worry about deaths from that. I just have to sit and wait for everyone to dehydrate...

Although, I'm curious as to why my military (cannot follow order).

Idea:

Giant wrestling match. If I'm reading this right and your dwarfs are going to dehydrate, draft them. Have a giant wrestling match in your dining room with those gobbos. Make it a giant bar fight complete with tables, mugs, and chairs. It will be awesome.

EDIT: Ok looks like you can't have one. *sob*

In all seriousness though, gather up any dwarves without friends, seal them in with all the food/any food you can get and hope that the trolls leave is the simplest option.

reclaim and there will probably be more trolls, though in less problematic places. if anything, reclaiming won't hurt.
