so i finally made my first useful artifact!
a naked mole bone shield.
i told my captain of the guard to go equip it and lo and behold he did!

only now, he has a steel battle axe in his left hand and a steel shield in his right hand and Gathilduthur the naked mole bone shield in his right hand.

huh?

anyone seen this before?

He is perhaps attached to the steel shield that you told him to replace and instead of abandoning it, warps time and space in order to hold two full sized shields in his right hand.

Have seen an adventurer do this with various swords and axes in one hand and 3 shields in the other hand.

maybe they are really holding there weapons and shield with only 1 of their 5 fingers and the ones you witnessed were capable of holding with more than one finger.
