Moving a quantum pile
« on: February 21, 2011, 08:44:32 pm »

Ok.  I have created a quantum pile with about 30 stones in a 1x1 square.

After creating this pile, I realized I want this pile moved to a different location.... So I reclaimed it, deleted my old dump zone, created a new one, selected my 1x1 square to highlight for dump material.  Waited for them to move it to the new zone.... nothing.  No action from my dwarves.

Is it possible to move a quantum pile to a new location?  If so how?

Sorry if this is a dumb question, this is my 2nd day playing : /

Ok i just realized that i never actually deleted the garbage zone on top of my original stack so they never had motivation to move it to a 2nd location obviously.

Ignore this thread

That's strange, because if the first garbage dump was still there and active and you specified all the quantum stone to be dumped again, surely Urist McRefuseHauler would go down the stairs to the bottom of the first quantum pit, grab a stone, take it to the top of the pit, and throw it back down the pit through garbage dump #1 again. Did you build access to the bottom of the quantum pit?

Of course, since he doesn't actually walk around counting things, we can only assume that bookkeeping time is spent in deep meditation, psychically sensing exactly how many piles of orthoclase there are. It takes a while to hone a skill like that.
