Rise of the Wolf Cult

    There they stood, defiant, smug... grinning ear to ear. The King would have them executed on the spot if he didn't risk an uprising...

    The Wolf Cult... dwarven worshipers of the Demon Wolf Bamahgar, had run out their welcome. Today they would be exiled from the kingdom. The King though feared the worst, that they have infiltrated far more then these 44 dwarves.

    The king has contacted the elven liaison and ensured an ambush to take them out. Resources in the mountain home were scarce and the dukes were wary on sending expeditions out and leaving these cultists alive to potentially prey upon those future expeditions was not an option. They also worried that members of the cult may infiltrate the expeditions and eventually rise up against the mountain home.

    "Take them from my sight" the King growled through clenched teeth and his woven beard. His blood flowed like ice at the very thought of them. He sipped his wine marvelling at the chalice admiring the elven art work. Then the room darkened ... and all he heard was the sound of wolves....

    When he awoke the mountain home was under siege... the Wolf Cult had attempted a revolt!!! The guards, citizens, and endless nightmare of blood and steel and in the end the King, barely surviving the attempt on his life was victorious and the 44 cultists were dead along with another 300 cultists that were found... The threat was over... so it seemed.

    8 years later with the approval of the Dukes the King with great fan fare bid farewell to several brave expeditions to find wealth and glory. There was hope. There was joy in the air. It would not last. That evening the King visited the late queen's tomb, unable to sleep. He prayed, he wept, he argued with her memory, and as he returned to the observatory room, a place he often slept when restless... heard in the distance.... the cry of wolves...


Rise of the Wolf Cult: Fortress Challenge
  • Mods: Werewolves in creature_standard.txt to [BIOME:ANY_LAND] but still keep them evil.
  • Objective\Challenge: Build a fortress dedicated, in secret, to the worship of werewolves and wolves with the eventual rebellion against the mountain home!
  • Rules: Embark into pure evil biome. Nobles should be kept "in the dark" so to speak on the cult.
  • Post As: Wolf Cult [Name of your Fortress]
  • Note: Assume the dungeon master at the very least is a cult member, your call who knows and who doesn't. Suggest anyone with a particular skill in an immigration wave is a member (e.g. Animal Care, Soapmaking.... whatever.)
  • Extra Challenge: Keep cultists friendly with one another but not friends with non-cultist. When the moon is right rise up and let loose the werewolves on the non-cultists!
