Any clues on how to get dwarfs to acutally use pots? I have seen mine use some once, but cannot do it again. Even by raising my 'reserved barrels' to more than my total number of barrels.

To answer the OP, the only way to use a pot, that I have seen anyway, is to re-designate the food stockpile. You don't even have to move it, just delete the old one and place a new one right where it was before. Pots are very bugged though, so just use barrels if you can.

I have seen pots used but I don't know the condition required. They might prefer barrels first, who knows. Try glazing?

I've got a glazed pot storing strawberries right now.  I just made a huge-normous food stockpile and it got used.  4 other glazed pots have not been used, but barrels have, and there's not yet so much food that another pot is needed (I have food mixing OFF btw).  I may attempt to simply produce more food, or else will start to forbid barrels in the hopes that they'll resort to pot use.

Only one pot will be used per type of food, as the pots have infinite capacity and can easily store ten pages of plants at once.

Yes, but I have other plants, and thus should be using other pots...
