Clay Gathering Zone
« on: February 19, 2011, 11:46:45 am »

I can't seem to get a clay gathering zone. I've got both "clay" and "silty clay", and when I try to make a "Clay" zone over a dug-out piece of clay, it just remains grayed out and says (0) after it, as if I had selected an area with no clay at all. What do I do?

Are you playing a fortress in a world that was generated using version 0.31.19?

P.S. If you don't get this note, let me know and I'll write you another.
It's amazing how dwarves can make a stack of bones completely waterproof and magmaproof.
It's amazing how they can make an entire floodgate out of the bones of 2 cats.

If you have clay on the surface, try making a zone over that.  I noticed that clay zones don't mind grass, unlike sand zones which need a clear surface.

Also, obviously, magma avalanches and tsunamis weren't exactly a contingency covered in the mission briefing.
I can assure you that Ardentdikes is not the first fortress to be flooded with magma. What's unusual is that we actually meant to flood it with magma.
