I'm thinking about attaching all my wardogs to one person

If a majority of them died in a battle, would he start having a tantrum, or are they not considered pets?

They're considered pets, I believe.  At least my dwarves who tend to have war dogs assigned to them get unhappy thoughts when they become ex-war dogs.

Better to have that one person train them all, as you'll still get your cloud of animals.

I am trying to make chickens lay bees as eggs. So far it only produces a single "Tame Small Creature" when a hen lays bees.
Honestly at the time, I didn't see what could go wrong with crowding 80 military Dwarves into a small room with a necromancer for the purpose of making bacon.

ive had this idea as well, and the exotic war-animals as well if i can ever get the dungeon master to arrive...somehow the idea of the goblin hoard laughing at the one dwarf exiting the fortress, then pausing in awe/terror at the sight of a single dwarf leading a massive army of war animals.

Another way would be to channel out a pit somewhere in front of your entrance (with ramps on all sides), set it as a pasture zone, and assign all war animals to it. Then you cover it with a retractable bridge. When the goblins are on or near the bridge, open it.

This is the best idea ever.

From Mr. Welch's 1350 things he is not allowed to do in a RPG:
148. There is no Gnomish Deathgrip, and even if there was, it wouldn't involve tongs.
171. My character's dying words are not allowed to be "Hastur, Hastur, Hastur"
218. No matter my alignment, organizing halfling pit fights is a violation.
231. I am not allowed to do anything that would make a Sith Lord cry.
240. Any character with more than three skills specializing in chainsaw is vetoed.

I don't train them, instead I just let them wander around in the meeting zone. They're my last line of defense should anything breach all other defenses and reach the meeting zone, which is the heart of the fortress.

I put them outside in the front, so they'll charge at whatever is nearby.
