Help me with resolution settings and custom wordlgen, please?
« on: September 16, 2010, 11:57:56 am »

Hello, I'd ask for advice how to set up my init file to get all of my screen used in full-screen mode. I got a 1440x900 widescreen and I can't manage to set things up on my own. I do X=1440 Y=900 and turn OFF the blackspace option, but it only results in a small window not taking whole of the screen.
And I'm sure I had this figured out in the previous versions, but somehow can't now.

Also, would anyone be kind enough to tell me what variables in the worldgen to alter to get a world that:
 - has relatively little seas so I can have more sites to choose from
 - has lots of temperate and cold areas and very little hot ones
 - has lots of evil areas that have undead

I can help with worldgen.

Set minimum number of ocean tiles to about 1/6 of the preset value.

Set maximum temperature at 30.

Set minimum number of evil tiles to be whatever you think is appropriate given the size of the map.

What I think claer is trying to say is that the new versions of DF support you just maximizing the window that DF is running in.

It doesn't work, regardless of it I still get a 'full screen' mode that's actually a small window in a corner of black.

Try using the scrollwheel on the mouse and see if that causes it to fill the screen. I'm not up on how to manually set the tile resolution, and I use graphics packs exclusively.
