I've been playing Advenuture mode for a while now, but unfortunately, nothing interesting seems to happen to me. I tried turning the number of beasts up to 'very high' but I never run into any. I find myself wandering too far and then being mobbed by boogeymen for the upteenth time. It's getting a bit boring.

So... I ask you. What world-gen specifications should I set, and what should I do to make Adventure mode as fun as possible? And I do mean both types of fun.

Okay, that's on my list. But what world-gen settings should I use? Is it more fun to make everything ridiculously hard? Is it better to have a long history and let areas develop? Etc. Etc.

Either make yourself an enemy of a major civilization, or enter the caverns somehow. If you feel confident, try finding the circus in fortress mode and slay as many clowns as you can.

Or challenges. Never taking companions sounds hard.

On a barely related note, how small can you make worlds?

Are you saying you can't find titans and night creatures or just that they aren't interesting? Asking about surroundings and service should direct you to their lairs, shrines, etc. unless they're somehow all so far away that no one knows of them.

or more long way
1.0retire a heavy famed adventure
1.1use Nano fort and Dfusion to place one tile Reclaim(with a hole to hell) site and a Hamlet next to a lair
1.3move the adventure in the new hamlet
1.4go to Reclaim the old site but with hopefully armed men then leave again
1.5take up your adventurer proceed to Recruit as many men from the site you can get and reach the Adamantine tube/weapon
step 2 use Tweak and pop the cap off hell and carve a stairway down battling the hellish folk there.
Step 3 use Tweak to make a small hut in Hell above the hamlet and spend a good amount of time digging your self back out of hell to do so.
If you Survive all of this with out Dying then go to step 4


Step 4 use the Embark anywhere command in Dfusion and Embark on top of Human fortress and KILL THEM ALL... if you don't have their royalty blood all over their nice house then Reclaim and do it again!
