Impossible Mood!!! SOLVED
« on: February 13, 2011, 08:52:29 pm »

Okay, so I have a dwarf that is in a fey mood.

She wants (I am not sure the order): cut gems, plant cloth, and body parts.

She likes: horn silver, aluminum, sardonyx, turtle shell, the color indigo, bolts, shields, puzzleboxes, donkeys and chimpanzees.

I have cut sardonyx gems. I have rope reed cloth, more then I could ever need. I have skulls and ivory, but not horn.

Help?

At the end of the day, I don't think his main goal is to sell Dwarf Fortress, its just to create the best game possible.

turtle shell

The dreaded shell mood still exists, it's just restricted to dwarves that like shells.

I'm not that experienced, but I think a dwarf in a mood wanting cloth may want silk cloth instead of plant based cloth.

According to the wiki, she *should* ask for shell. She hasn't... (Note that the wiki needs to be verified)

I have giant and normal cave spider silk cloth. Besides, she wants PLANT, not SILK.

It's probably shell.  If you're near autumn, you can wait for the dwarf caravan and buy some turtles, or go fishing on your own.

Go fishing. Bought turtles come pre-shelled, so you get none.

I usually mod horn and hoof to count as shell.  Just open the materials default raw file and add [SHELL] to the materials definitions for horn and hoof.  I think this can even be done to an existing world without requiring a regen.

Yes, but it only applies to horn (hoof) made after that change.

Could want pig tail cloth, it being Dwarfy. Or needs more bones. Type of gem usually does not matter

Check what she already has, and if there's only one thing that's the first on her list.

That didn't last long, huh? Shame, cause binary's cool. Anyway, an important message: I will be changing my names on every username based thing I use to ASCIt on/around 10/1. Consolidating, I guess you could say.

She had nothing. She wanted ivory. I put [TOOTH] on bone, and [SHELL] on hoof to see what she wanted, and she took bones. 14 of them, to be exact, and a star ruby and rope reed cloth. Only the bone is present on the artifact. The rest disappeared.

Tooth?  That's nasty.  That bone artifacts end up being just bones with no ornamentation is a known bug though.
