This has promise
« on: February 12, 2011, 10:45:37 pm »

found this gem while perusing the forum. Wyzman had a gripe, that could lead to less of a problem with Danger Rooms,
 Hello,

I have 3 squads for my militia.  All members of the squads are assigned a war dog.
I have two burrows.  One is out front used for my militia, the other is inside used for my civilians.
When I switch my alert to PANIC, my army goes to the defend burrows out front and all my civilians AND animals go to the safe zone.

How do I keep my war dogs with their militia owners???

Does anyone besides me see the potential in this bug. It requires investigation.

Should you fail to comply, strict !!disciplinary actions!! will be taken. Also, we feel we should remind you that one of the "criminals" on your list is the chief medical dwarf. If he ends up too badly injured to do his job, you will be fired. Out of a magma cannon.
Sincerely,
The Administration

See potential in what? I see no bugs here.

Or maybe there's a god who's just completely insane and sends you to Detroit, Michigan in a new body if you ever utter the name "Pat Sajak".

I think he is looking at this as a way to keep war dogs out of the danger room...

I think?

Yes sir, and other pets. Less pets that get killed, less bad thoughts. Also would prevent them from pathing to their owners, possibly

Thus why experiments are needed on this, GTM

I would start some experimentation, but I have yet to tackle the beast that is burrows.  I just let my dwarves run free and any that wander into danger get what they deserve.

On a side track, gtm,, learning to use a burrow as Panic area, for a alert, or defensive station, is good to learn. I still have not done enough experiments on burrows, to realize their full potential
