Embarking on top/in a human village?

I came upon a video of a "Lets play"er who embarked inside of a Human village in 40d, and I was wondering how that would work out in .18? I love the idea of having an evil lair beneath a seemingly innocent area (See Evil Genius, the game)

First ofcourse is the hazzle of embarking anywhere, which I have not been able to figure out entirely yet - however I did find a thread suggesting cheat engine and changing some offsets (which wasn't suffuciently described for me to understand it fully, and pull it off)

Do the humans mind that I occupy their homes/basements to build my fortress? How do they react to invaders/wildlife?

Do they go about their lives or do they just idle and starve themselves?

I am going to copy the chicken entry and rename everything chocobo and make it 100x the size of a normal chicken and make it rideable.  Too bad our dwarves probably wont ride them. >_>

From what I've seen in 0.31.18 you can't embark on an area in the vanilla game that has an established settlement.

I kind of miss that little bit. Per the wiki, embarkanywhere isn't an option for "2010".  Though from the forum thread for the utility it looks like a little creativity might get you there.

I was able to embark on human settlements back in .07, so anything before that should let you.
I could be wrong.
