Paranoia.
« on: February 08, 2011, 03:21:03 am »

Paranoia is the Irrational Fear that Someone is Out To Get You.

You're a citizen of Alpha Complex.  You're a clone.  You're infrared clearance, and kept pleasantly drugged up as you work your 18 hour shift scrubbing algae-tanks.  You know what to look out for; mutants, communists, traitors.  Those forces arrayed against your beloved Complex, and its caretaker, Friend Computer.   You know what to look out for, because Friend Computer has taught you.  In one of the many great gleaming halls of algae-tanks and hydroponic nutritional slime growth vats, you see someone doing something odd.  You can't quite tell what, so you toddle off to the corner where a friendly Blue clearance officer is standing, and tell him what's up.  You are rewarded for turning in a dangerous threat to the complex, and are awarded with a promotion to Red clearance, and a new job:  Troubleshooter.  You get a slight bump in pay, access to a few more of Friend Computer's delightful capitalist treats, a chance to be a hero of the complex by doing the will of Friend Computer, a decrease in your daily medication, and a shiny red apple.

As you chomp into that apple, the first real genuine non-congealed food you've ever had, your head is swimming with thoughts and possibilities; both from the new opportunities afforded you in this grand position, and from the medication wearing off.  You realize that by finding and turning in more CMTs, you just might work your way up to Orange, or Yellow, or Green, or Blue, or Indigo, or Violet, or dare you dream...Ultraviolet.

(This is the opening post.   If you've been tapped to play in this, you know who you are.   Please do not post IN-CHARACTER without prior permission.  OOC comments are welcome, provided they are not going to put ideas into the player's heads, if you surround them with parenthesis like this.  The game has not quite started yet, as I am still waiting for sheets to be hammered out.)

That's it. We've finally crossed over and become the nation of Da Orky Boyz.
