Odd map-gen problem with Brooks
« on: November 07, 2007, 05:39:00 pm »

Near my most recent fort there was a brook running across the map. 1 Level below the brook there was also a stream the exact same size / path. This meant to access the actual stream water I had to dig channels on the books tiles to "break through" down to the level of the water.

Very weird but not game breaking (could still get at the water).

Toady answered this in another thread.  Apparently, in order for dwarves to be able to cross shallow water (i.e. a brook), he had to put an "empty" brook tile on the z-level above the actual water-containing tile, so it's planned that way.

If software was real world, then it'd be something equivalent of hitting a nail with a hammer and having a building collapse on the other side of town.
