What most people don't realize about the American national debt is that it isn't actually money that the average American citizen owes. It's actually(this was before the big bailouts, I'm not sure where that money actually came from) money owed to the average American citizen. The foreign debt is a rather small part of the debt. Most of the money was generated by taking the money Americans paid to social security and just spending it on the Congresses favorite pet projects. Essentially, they've pulled an Enron. They've raided the retirement savings of the entire country. People don't seem to realize this. They're just like "oh god, the national debt is(was) 7 trillion dollars! How are we gonna pay it off?!?!" They don't seem to realize that most of that money was theirs(or rather the national retirement trust fund's) before the oligarchy ripped them off.

I'm not sure what's happening now, but it looks like they're just buying favor overseas and shipping off all of the manufacturing capacity they can.

Anyways, the writings on the wall.
