Back when I was 12 there was this TV show called "Tabaluga, the little green dragon". I hated it. I watched it as my "three minutes of hate", as I was sure that it was political propaganda of some sort.
I'm sorry, but how do you get propaganda from a dragon and an evil snow man?
I hated that show because the rabbit made it looks like a girls show. Although I never missed an episode of CardCaptors!

Knowing is half of the battle.

That, or knowledge is power.

Knowing is half of the battle.

That, or knowledge is power.

Power = work/time.

Knowledge = power.

Ergo, knowledge = work/time.

So the smarter you are, the more work gets shoved on you, and the less time you have to do it all. It's a pity I didn't learn this when I was younger, or I wouldn't have chosen to be smart.

Back in my early days of schooling, I noticed that smarter kids in class were getting 'gifted' levels of work (which is usually 1.5x more work and slightly more difficult to do in order to maintain the title of gifted). Having the foresight (and this was maybe as far back as 1st-3rd grade), I suspended my intellect at a levels that will keep me low enough to not be inconvenienced with more work, but high enough not to be regarded as 'special' and cause any future intellectual damage (temporary or permanent).

I kept it up for a decent amount of time until I got home schooled (where I didn't have to worry as much about it, and learn/apply at full force) or my later years of high school (back to public school by then), I think my intelligence and effort really shows more when I try to avoid work, rather than actually do the work. I am brilliant a good portion of the time, but I'm lazy as fuck any other time.

I learned that it's cool to be smart! Which led to a lot of confusion in high school.

I learnt that in any group of people, there is always one token black guy, as to not appear racist. It is, paradoxicly, racist.

Parodied in South Park where the token black guy is, in fact, named Token Black.

SBS has taught me that European media is incredibly depressing. Even the ones that aren't from former Soviet countries.

The Discovery Channel taught me that you can't make any show interesting anymore unless the world ends during it.

TV, or rather The Cookie Monster, has taught me how cookies are supposed to be eaten.
