How To Kill a Mockingbird
« on: January 31, 2011, 02:37:21 pm »

I originally saw this here:

No, clearly kobolds will become a mockingbird.

I now have nothing left to live for.

Discuss! What do you think? What was the best part? Was it so bad it's good or so bad it's horrible? Should it be destroyed for making a mockery of this great book, or was it an improvement on the original?

You forgot the important part of context from that thread, where that is what the future of DF is, and dwarves will eventually all become pirates, and elves will become ninjas that turn into dinosaurs, balls of fire, and presidents volcanos.

Personally, I like [DF] because after climbing the damned learning cliff, I'm too elitist to consider not liking it.

My mother tried to get me to read that book. I found it sort of boring. Dont recall if I finished it.

Ok, it is funny, to a certain level, but there is better out there! The end of ze world is always a classic if you want a one off sketch, but if you want true funny, you can't go past Zero punctuation, by English born, Australian living Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw. Go, be happy.

It is some what a parody of our education system. Through the speech, the presenter will randomly stop and mention stock standard poetic tecniques that the auther is using, showing how in our education system it isn't about having a good level of understanding, it is about reciting answers that have been drilled into your head and preemptivly agreeing with the marker... For english anyway.

So we can't nay say it for having no interlectual value, reguardless of what the presenter was trying to do.

Yes I can, if I believe you're just reading way too far into this.

Which I do. You're reading too far into this.

Yeah, and you should change your signature, I got all excited for another 2D fort, then I saw it was a year old.

But if you don't determine that everyone is Jesus in purgatory you're doing English class wrong. Don't question accept it. Everything is a symbol, even when the author says otherwise. What do they know? /RAEG at English class

There is a certain irony to saying 'This work is about how english teachers say everything has some deep inner meaning'
