Gobbos vs. Gobbos: TO THE DEATH!
« on: January 31, 2011, 11:19:05 pm »

Ha, I was elated to discover that my cut-off from the surface base has two groups of goblins that come to ambush the unlucky settlers who are not worthy to enter.

Apparently these two groups are also at war with each other, so I'll get ambush groups up the wazoo, but they mostly fight each other (thus resulting in them usually fleeing) ...

Has anyone else had this happen? I find it high-larious :)

Although I've never experienced two different goblin civs going to war on my front lawn before, I've seen many loyalty cascades from them, which are probably just as hilarious to witness.

I wonder how goblin civilization ever gets anything done when they loyalty cascade everytime you look at them cross-eyed.

Looking at legends, I've seen things like them murdering their spouses...

I wonder whatever gobo's have more loyalty cascades. If so maybe it has to do with their ethics.

in genesis i actually had been sieged by three parties at the same time.
two of them were at war with the other one..
thus they fought near my cage trap covered main entrance, many killed, bled out, rest captured, except for a couple, who escaped probably just to report the much anticipated defeat.

and on goblin's ethics, copied from vanilla raw:
Code: [Select]
[ETHIC:KILL_ENTITY_MEMBER:PERSONAL_MATTER]

This is actually a bug. I think this is caused by the new [LOCAL_BANDITRY]-tag. It makes creatures hostile to anyone that has a different site-membership, even if they belong to the same civilization. It's a little bit annoying since it makes ambushes a lot less challenging.

What if you were to remove that tag? Would it keep them from attacking your dwarves?

I consider it a bug-feature. It fits the way I picture goblins.
