Recreating Vault 11
« on: April 08, 2011, 09:44:12 am »

I've so far made a basic "Vault" fort template in Dwarf Fortress, and I've tweaked several of them to make the variuos variations. So far Vault 101, 13, and Vault 106 (replaced hallucogenics with smoke). Now I'm trying to recreate Vault 11. Can you guys give me any suggestions on how to replicate the sacrifical chamber election process?

Of course the most simple, and easy way of doing it is so, that once a new mayor is chosen the last one is sent to a room, which is flooded with magma and then emptied.

But how to choose an unpopular dorf for the "overseer"...

The least happy one? >:D

Vault 112 would be easy...

Just a bunch of beds in a circle!

That's not enough. You must also fill those beds (except two) with wounded resting dwarves. :-)

Seems to be the way with things on this forum; if an invention doesn't involve death by magma then you know someone's going to go out of their way to make sure it does involve death by magma... then it gets acknowledged as being a great invention.

Also I imagine the vaults from Fallout 1 and 2 would be easy-ish. They all have the same layout I believe.

Why not create something else than just vaults, like, say, the entire Vault City :)

Arnok demands New Reno! But does not object if you neglect to include Julius.

Used Dwarf Therapist to choose the unhappiest dwarf every year. I actually put a bunch of fire imps behind fortifications for the sacrificial chamber. Thanks.
