i now play the genisis mod. it's alot plants
but somehow i can't plant leek seeds obtained from elven merchant
my fort is in cold/temperate forest where thaw only lasts four months a year. thuogh i do suppose once obtained, plants can grow in farms anywhere.

Well i didn't see a [MATERIAL_VALUE:] token anywhere but other than that it seems OK, you can only plant it in autumn and winter though so that might be your problem. That or you're trying to grow it indoors.

there are two [MATERIAL_VALUE:] tokens at their right places(i suppose), for mill product n' seed
and i did try to plant it on above-ground farm, just could not see in the autumn and winter selection menu.

i remembered this happening in vanilla once where i just couldnot plant whip vine, no matter how i get the seeds. but it didnt bother me as much since i could rely just on plant gathering in that fort.
but this time, leek is exotic(at least after few years running i didnt see any as raw indicates there would be) so i really want to get it growing.

anyway, comparing with many other plants that are selectable in seasonal menu, there is nothing wrong with is.

edit:mud is only needed for underground farming. though i did try building a farm on mudded tiles and, well, leek didnt show up.

Check your mud.  I've hit issues with mud where something is able to build a farm plot but not able to plant.
