« on: January 20, 2011, 02:55:28 pm »

I wanted to have some fun (possible !!FUN!!) with an easy embark, volcano, major river, sand, and flux but to get all of this I had to Incress my embark size. And when I did embark I got this: (spoiler is Images)
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Save if you want it.

when I unpause the game it goes down to less than 1 fps.

So I just have one question, What should I do with it?

Ok since I can't get the image to work I'll just have to describe what happen. The first cavern is open to the air on the bottom half of my embark. The major river on my map is going thought part of the cavern flooding it. Oh and there are carp in the river. part of the caver is higher than my river so that part of the caver is suspended into the air with nothing holding it up over the river.

I believe that has less to do with a changed embark size than with a bugged world; they seem to be more common than in previous versions. Try embarking far away from that area, but you'll probably have to regen.

I've got a map like that. The original embark went okay (see below), but playing with the embark sizes (reducing them, mostly) led to a map like that.

It's worth seeing if you can get a stable embark, because for all I know crap like that is a sign that the map will give you lots of great stuff if you can place the embark correctly.

I am trying to make chickens lay bees as eggs. So far it only produces a single "Tame Small Creature" when a hen lays bees.
Honestly at the time, I didn't see what could go wrong with crowding 80 military Dwarves into a small room with a necromancer for the purpose of making bacon.

Fascinating, it seems it generated a cavern level at the surface.

What's above that? Below it?

Above it is some more melding of caver/surface just not as crazy as that until you get 4 z lvl's higher, at that point it's just a "normal" embark zone. if you go below it it is still cavern. Using dfreveal I can see that the 2nd carven is fine.

Yeah, this has nothing to do with the embark size, it's the world itself that's bugged.

Centration. Similar to Spacestation 13, but in 3D and first-person. Sounds damn awesome.
