Total newb to Raw Editing needs help

I want to remove aquifers, but for some reason when I use replace [AQUIFER] with " " (Blank) it replaces them all, but when I got to play it has replaced all my soil with "Rock".

Any help/solutions?

Since this normally works, I suspect you accidentally changed some other characters in the file somewhere.

Re-extract your raws, and then try it again.

There are ways of making this work on an already generated world but it is easier to check if it works if you generate a new world as well.

I used the Lazy Pack GUI to do it. Took a bit to migrate my edits (Speed 50 dwarves and metal beds) but it was worth it... no annoying aquifers.
