[38c] ramps considered inside!
« on: March 28, 2008, 10:19:00 pm »

My dwarves live in a very mountainous region and have had to dig and build lots of ramps to move about the map and trade.

It appears that (b)uilt ramps are considered 'inside'. (d)esignated ramps are considered outside.

During a seige I order my dwarves to stay inside - resulting in a steady stream running back and forward to various ramps scattered about the map. Usually with lethal results.

Ramps that *I* build outside are seen as being above-ground / light, just like ramps I dug outside -- the behaviour you'd expect.

AFAIK, "Stay inside" currently really means "Stay in subterranean areas", so I'm not sure that your problem is caused by ramps being considered inside or not (unless they're also flagged as subterranean?). Do they show as "Inside" (and/or "Subterranean") when you look at them with 'k'?
