War Animals?

I was playing my 1st Genesis Dwarf Fortress around 2 months ago, (lost it to gobbos) and my migrant wave came. Guess what i got. WAR PIG!!!!! I smiled and forgot it a moment later. But know i remembered and it started me thinking. I just stole a couple of animals from the animals and im wondering if they can be trained into war animals. Can they?
