Engraving / Constructed floor typo
« on: March 27, 2008, 08:53:00 pm »

Okay, this is a little bit of an obscure bug.

1.) smooth, then engrave a section of floor.  It will read something like, +Detailed+ Basalt floor
2.) Construct a floor over top of the engraving.  For this test, I used microline. Once constructed, it will read "Rough Microline Block Floor"
3.) Remove the constructed floor.  Once it's gone there will be a microline block on top and the floors description will be "Basalt Cavern Floor"

Note: In all instances, the engraving shows up just fine, and the picture shows up fine too.  This is just an instance of weird naming.

Edit: Except that when I just checked it the engraving shows up as the cavern floor symbol (like an `) when you hide the picture, just with the grey background, not a black one with a + sign.

Probably intended, what with the act of pulling up a floor being all destructive and such.
Does the same with metal floors, un-smoothing the rock beneath.
We'll see what the toadster says if he's interested  :D

I could imagine some kind of engraving being hidden under an additional stone floor. It's a heretical or treasonous work! Perhaps, years from now, others will remove the floor when it is safe to display it!

I'll note it down and see what's going on.  Probably removing smoothing without checking engraving events, however it manages that.
