Web Comic
« on: December 25, 2010, 08:06:36 pm »

I'm creating a web comic, but I'm only a moderately good artist at this point.  I've almost finished creating the first episode.  Any great artists out there looking for a great project to attach themselves to?  I'm looking for someone who can be consistent, as much as artists can be.  Heh.  Let me know!

You are embarking on an impossible journey Rainseeker; turn back now!

What sort of style are you looking for?

Edit:  Not offering, just posing a useful question.

Gaaah!  Can't I escape your prying eyes, Capntastic???

In all seriousness, I'm making a comic with animal-people (primarily rodents) set in a city, with a detective/mystery theme.

Style-wise, I'm open to using whatever style you feel most comfortable with, but looking mostly for a simple style overall.

Contact me or post here and we'll talk.  It's going to be really cool, I've got most of the first episode written and laid out.

Ah, the ultimate dream. Writing a comic, and letting someone else handle the hard part of drawing it. Good luck.

I'd offer my services, but I'm afraid I don't meet any of your qualifications.

Hm.

I consider myself an artist, but I can't say I'm that good. I'm better than many, but I'm sure that a good percentage of the forum population could beat me out.

I would also offer my services, but I don't know if I can meet the standards you're looking for. Maybe you should draw something (if you're willing) to show what you want. It doesn't matter your skill, whether you're decent, or can't draw a straight line. Just gimme something I can look at. A picture is worth a thousand words, right?

Rainseeker, you may find it difficult or impossible to find someone willing to work with you, especially if the artist has no involvement in the storyline or character development. A professional illustrator would have no qualms with pure illustration, but only because they are getting paid to do it.

You might post some example stories or character roughs to get people interested...

If that fails, I recommend these books (http://alexhays.com/loomis/) to help you on your way.

Well, I don't know exactly what Rainseeker is looking for, but you look qualified enough to me, Nighthawk.
Plus, I'd say that Rainseeker's main priority here should be getting some pilot comics done.

As a web-comic reader, I read comics for their content, not their artist's ability. If either of you two could make one of your drawings look like the other, I'd be able to read this just fine.
Though, I will confess, from what you've said already, I'm quite intrigued by this comic/idea.
